Avast ye maties, summer may be a few weeks off, but that hasn’t stopped retailers from offering a sea of maritime goodies for your home, lake house, porch, deck, patio and pool.

And while the weather may not be quite warm enough to slip into a swimsuit and take a walk off a plank this holiday weekend, you can still stock up now for future pool and beach time.

My first stop this week on my shopping tour was Pier 1 Imports in Fairview Heights. The place has gone gaga over sea creatures big and small, decorating everything from goblets and plates to placemats and pillows.

I especially liked the red ceramic lobster-claw salt and pepper shakers for $9.95. A silver ice scoop ($14.95) has a seahorse handle, plus take 20 percent off all the melamine plates and serving pieces (regularly $6.95 and up) peppered with sea turtles, octopus, star fish and shells. I also spotted a wood and marble cheese board ($34.95) shaped like a whale.

Want to put a message — or flowers —in a bottle? Deals/Dollar Tree in Fairview Heights — the one across from TJ Maxx — has tall glass bottles with corks for a buck each. I spotted clear, green, blue and red ones. I can see lining up a few on a long table and putting a single stem in each. This retailer, and other locations, is also a great place to pick up $1 inflatable pool toys, noodles, flip-flops, beach games and swim goggles.

Big Lots in Fairview Heights has citronella candles, some in decorative pots, with prices starting at a three-pack of small candles for $3.

Plus, check out the metal drum tables. Similar ones I’ve seen elsewhere are upwards of $60. The ones at Big Lots are in the $24 to $34 range, with some painted glossy red, cream or turquoise. Shapes and heights vary, too.

At Ben’s in downtown Belleville, get the kids ready for the pool, beach and picnic with Melissa and Doug kick balls, on sale for $6.88 in bug and butterfly designs. Plus, this retailer is always a great place to pick up patriotic paper and plastic tableware supplies for this weekend.

Want to drink while you’re in the drink? Bed, Bath & Beyond in Fairview Heights has Bigmouth Inflatable Fruit Drink Pool Floats.

A set of three ($9.99) brightly colored inflatable rings that look like pineapple, lime and watermelon, hold your drink (and maybe your phone if you’re careful) while you are in the water.
