You don’t need lace gloves or a top hat to enjoy a night at the museum.

From 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, St. Clair County Historical Society will host Victorian Nights at the society’s 1866 mansion-turned-museum at 701 E. Washington St. in Belleville.

Besides exploring the historic mansion in time for its 150th birthday, enjoy music from indie folk group Letter to Memphis, handcrafted appetizers and dessert, wine and beer tastings by Crown Valley Winery, as well as raffles and prizes.

Tickets are $25 and include two drinks, food and entertainment. For reservations, call 618-234-0600 or go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/victorian-nights-tickets-25966684051. Tickets also can be purchased at Peace by Piece at 132 W. Main St. in Belleville.

Museum Curator Will Shannon said the event is a new way to reach out to the community.

“We want to throw open our doors to a whole new group of people,” he said. “We do a lot with school kids, our Open House days, so we wanted a fun evening event for adults that will appeal to a different crowd. ... I’d like to let as many people as possible know who we are and what we do.”
