Edward J. Blake Jr. of the law firm Blake & Allen, P.C. is now a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. The mission of the group is to establish members as the providers of legal advocacy, guidance and services to enhance the lives of people as they age as well as individuals with special needs.

Peggy A. Sebastian, a nurse with over 29 years of experience in health care administration, has been named president and CEO of St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland.

Leah Corey, MSW, LSW, has joined Family Hospice in Belleville as social services coordinator.

Greg Hahn of Rhutasel and Associates, Inc. recently passed the land surveyor examination administered by the state of Illinois and is now a licensed professional land surveyor in Illinois. He works in the surveying department at the Freeburg office.

Janae Hausman has been selected as Ambassador of the Month for July by the Riverbend Growth Association at their recent Ambassador's meeting. The award is given to one member of the organization's Ambassador's Committee who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in fulfilling the mission of the Committee to welcome and introduce new businesses to the area.

Christine Pflueger of Red Bud recently received the Country Financial scholarship. She is a senior at Illinois State University where she is majoring in actuarial science. The scholarship is for a student who has excelled scholastically in undergraduate course work and demonstrates strong qualities of leadership, service and citizenship.

The Women's Christian Center has elected a new member to their Board of Directors. Misty Jones currently works at the Crisis Nursery in St. Louis. Other board members are Barb Santos, executive director, Taletta Watson, director, Andrea Suhre, treasurer, and Teresa Webb, secretary.

Patrick Fox has joined Gorman & Gorman Home Loans as mortgage banker. He has over 20 years combined experience managing financial operations.

Ronald L. Covarrubias of Maryville has joined Interface Construction Corp. in St. Louis as preconstruction/project manager. His responsibilities will include pre construction and project management for the general contracting company and will work to expand joint ventures with general contractors and construction managers on larger projects.
