Matt Hawkins has been selected by The America Group, a St. Louis based financial services firm, as a financial adviser covering Madison and St. Clair counties. He has worked on Wall Street as an investment banker and also served in the United States Navy during Desert Storm.

Gary Hoggatt Jr., AVP, branch manager and mortgage loan officer with National Bank in Edwardsville, has graduated from The Community Bankers School sponsored by the Community Bankers Association of Illinois. He is also acting Security Officer for National Bank and keeps the Web site up-to-date.

Hurlie Cozart has joined MySci as a program specialist. MySci provides K-2 teachers with science curriculum books and classroom kits, and then later visits the schools with an Investigation Station, to give students an interactive learning experience.

Cozart will travel to local elementary schools with an Investigation Station to interact with students and will provide professional development for teachers who participate in the program.

Attorney John J. Hopkins of Edwardsville has been recommended by his peers as a leading lawyer in the practice area of personal injury law. Other local attorneys also recognized in this regard are Thomas Keefe, James Mendillo and Robert Nelson.

Peggy Baker has been named the new blood bank supervisor at Memorial Hospital. She will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the blood bank, keeping up with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements and improving technology. She will also serve as a resource to hospital staff regarding transfusion medicine questions.

David Stoecklin, executive director of the Madison County Employment and Training Department, has been elected president of the Illinois Workforce Partnership, a statewide association of directors of the workforce development system.
