Fairview Heights police were called to a convenience store early Thursday morning after a clerk reported an armed robbery.
No one was injured, but police were told that a man went into Huck’s at 1029 Lincoln Highway armed with a dark-colored revolver. The man demanded money from the clerk, police said.
Officers from Fairview Heights Police Department responded to the call at 3:14 a.m. Thursday. By then, the suspect had fled the scene.
Police described the suspect as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black sweatshirt with a gray hood, black pants showing blue boxers, white tennis shoes and black gloves. The suspect was also wearing a red bandana over his face.

The man allegedly held the revolver at the hip of the clerk while he directed the clerk to open the cash drawers. Police said the suspect was able to take an undisclosed amount of cash. Police said the suspect also took the clerk’s wallet before fleeing the store.
Surveillance images were pulled from video recorded at the store. The images show one man inside the store with a gun.
