Hang in there — fall temps are oh-so-close; drastic cool-down ahead

Fall temperatures are finally arriving in the metro-east. A drastic cool-down is in the works.

Sunday...Partly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. High in the upper 80s. Temperature falling into the 70s in the afternoon. Southwest wind around 10 mph.

Sunday night...Cooler. Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Monday...Cooler. Mostly sunny. High around 70. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Monday night...Mostly clear. Low in the lower 50s.

Tuesday...Sunny. High in the lower 70s.

Tuesday night through thursday...Clear. Low in the lower 50s. High in the mid 70s.
