Robber brandishes knife, flees with cash from Belleville Walgreens

Police said an armed robbery involving a suspect with a knife was reported overnight at a Walgreens in Belleville.

The Belleville Police Department said in a news release later Monday morning that they were looking for one suspect described as a black man, around 40- to 50-years-old with a black and gray beard, wearing a light-colored hooded jacket, black coat, blue jeans and brown shoes.

The robbery was reported at Walgreens Pharmacy located at 5890 North Belt West.

Police said the suspect displayed a knife during the robbery. No one was injured.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. He was last seen running in the parking lot toward Frank Scott Parkway.

The investigation is ongoing.
