Metro-east resident wins $75,000 from lottery scratch-off ticket

A 21-year-old Godfrey man won $75,000 in a scratch-off game from the Illinois Lottery.

Lucas Pirtle “was at home when he used a quarter to scratch his ticket and discovered his win,” according to a press release from the Illinois Lottery.

He said he plans to buy a house with the money.

Pirtle played “Ultimate Crossword,” which costs $25 per ticket. He bought it at a gas station in Jerseyville. Medford Food Mart will receive $750 for selling the winning ticket.
