Crews respond to house fire in Cahokia

No one was injured Monday in a two-alarm house fire late Monday afternoon in Cahokia.

Cahokia fire crews responded to a house fire at 143 St. Thomas Lane in Cahokia around 4 p.m.

Cahokia Fire Chief Stephen Robbins said the fire started in the back of the one-story structure in a kitchen area. The only person in the house at the time was able to get out safely. Robbins said firefighters were able to get the fire out quickly upon arrival.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
