Illinois State Police were looking for a motorist who ran off after hitting other cars and backing up traffic on Interstate 64 Thursday morning in the East St. Louis area.
The man was driving recklessly, passing other cars on the shoulder and scraped eight of them, said ISP Master Sgt. Jeff Snyder.
It happened about 7:50 a.m. at 25th Street in East St. Louis, Snyder said. There were no injuries.
ISP was clearing the scene as of 9:15 a.m. and still looking for the suspect, who ran toward Jones Park.
