The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to have lane closures along Interstate 64 between Illinois 4 and Illinois 158 through the weekend, the agency said.
Traffic at the new Rieder Road interchange is set to be restricted to one lane in both directions and will be rerouted using the new interchange ramps, IDOT said.
Workers are scheduled to remove the old Rieder Road Bridge over I-64.
Lane closures and work were scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday, with all lanes being reopened by 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting, the agency said.
IDOT urged motorists to slow down and use caution when using the ramp lanes.
