Weekend plans? Expect sunny skies, warm weather

Scattered showers across most of the area are possible before 7 a.m. Friday with cloudy skies clearing to meet a high of 72 degrees, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

This weekend, metro-east residents can expect sunny skies with highs hovering in the high 70s and low 80s.

The forecast for the metro-east from the National Weather Service:

Today ... Isolated showers before 7 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Northeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight ... Mostly clear, with a low around 52. North wind 5 to 9 mph.

Saturday ... Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday Night ... Clear, with a low around 55. Calm wind.

Sunday ... Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Sunday Night ... Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Monday ... Sunny, with a high near 86.

Monday Night ... Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Tuesday ... Sunny, with a high near 88.
