He may be more than 7,000 miles away from home, but that didn’t stop Air Force Capt. Nathan Scavdal from wishing his mom a happy Mother’s Day.

Scavdal is a captain for the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, which featured dozens of its personnel in video messages sending their moms happy Mother’s Day wishes.

“I wanted to say happy Mother’s Day, Mom, in O’Fallon, Illinois,” Scavdal said in his short video.

From San Diego, California to Spring Hill, Minnesota, troops sent special messages to their moms and wives.

The 455th Air Expeditionary Wing is a U.S. Air Forces Central Command unit based at Bagram Airfield, the largest U.S. military base in Afghanistan.
