A car crash at the intersection of Illinois 161 and Frank Scott Parkway complicated rush hour for those on their way home from work Tuesday evening.
Just after 6 p.m., crews were called to the scene for a two-vehicle accident with entrapment. No one ended up being stuck in their car, but the crash left quite a mess to be cleaned up.
The victims were moving around the scene and did not have any major injuries. One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, said Belleville Fire Department Battalion Chief Randy Schield.
The accident caused the stoplight at the intersection to be knocked down. Schield said this is the second time in two weeks it’s been knocked over.

“Now it’s just a mess we’re trying to get cleaned up —it doesn’t help that it’s during rush hour,” Schield said.
Law enforcement are moving traffic along at the intersection, but encourage drivers to avoid the intersection if possible.
