An Alton man has been charged in the Sunday shooting death of Derrance G. Taylor.
Madison County State’s Attorney Thomas Gibbons charged Cameron D. Matlock, 25, with three counts of first degree murder, one count of armed robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, according to an Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis news release.
Officers found Taylor, 34, dead in the roadway on Union Street in Alton around 4 a.m. Sunday after they responded to gunshots. Taylor was pronounced dead on the scene, of a fatal gunshot wound.
Matlock has not been brought into custody yet, and the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is seeking the community’s help to find him. The squad warns the public to not approach or contact Matlock, but to instead call police immediately. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
His bail has been set at $1,000,000.
