Alton man dies in motorcycle crash

Police say a 28-year-old Alton man died Friday morning on McAdams Parkway in Godfrey after losing control of his motorcycle.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the crash around 2:30 a.m. on McAdams Parkway, about a mile and a half southeast of Clifton Terrace Road in Godfrey.

There, they found Michael Fraise had lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail on the bluff side of the road — although Fraise did not propel down a hill or embankment.

“(We think) it was just the impact of the guardrail,” Capt. Will Dimitroff said.

Dimitroff said Fraise died before deputies arrived.

No one else was involved in the crash.
