I-64 work at Rieder Road delayed until June

A planned lane closure to allow for work at the new Rieder Road interchange along westbound Interstate 64 near Mascoutah has been delayed two weeks, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

Workers were scheduled to paint the steel girders on the new bridge this weekend. However, because of a poor weather forecast, the work has been rescheduled to begin at 7 p.m. June 2 and be completed by 6 a.m. June 5, weather permitting.

When the work takes place, IDOT said it plans to restrict one lane of westbound I-64 between Illinois 4 and Illinois 158, and reroute traffic using the new interchange ramp lanes.
