5-year-old shot in St. Louis after adults he was with stopped to buy pot

A 5-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen Saturday after the two adults he was driving with bought marijuana in St. Louis, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The adults — in their 20s and 30s — were driving in the area of West Florissant and Genevieve avenues when the shots rang out from an unknown direction in the 7 p.m. hour, the Post-Dispatch wrote.

The boy was in critical but stable condition Sunday night.

Police did not release the adults’ relationship to the child, according to the newspaper.
