National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency officials were planning to hold a construction job fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 2233 Cass Ave. in North St. Louis.

KPLR reported that the site of the job fair, where about 36 different construction agencies will be represented, is the plot of land where the NGA’s western headquarters will be built.

There will be resources at the job fair for those people facing employment obstacles, the TV station reported.

The $1.75 billion campus almost came to a St. Clair County site on 182 acres next to Scott Air Force Base. In early June 2016, however, the agency announced the headquarters would be built on the 99-acre site in North St. Louis.

Construction of the 800,000-square-foot building will create about 1,500 temporary construction jobs and 3,100 permanent jobs.
