A 17-year-old boy killed another teenage boy Saturday when he pointed a gun at his head and pulled the trigger thinking the gun would not fire, police said.
Cliff Edwards, of St. Louis, told police he pointed the gun at Edward Hatcher, also 17, and pulled the trigger thinking the gun would not shoot without the magazine inserted.
Riverview Police Department officers responded to the shooting just after 2 p.m. Saturday in the 10000 block of Toelle Lane. When they arrived, they found Hatcher dead inside an apartment.
Edwards is in jail on a $100,000 cash-only bail. He is facing involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action charges.
