St. Louis County police find vehicle used by escaped inmate

St. Louis County police continue their search for an escaped inmate, though they found the vehicle he used to escape.

Bruce Brutsman, 36, an inmate at the St. Louis County Justice Center in Clayton, Missouri, was taken to an area hospital Saturday morning after he swallowed a battery, according to police. He escaped from a St. Louis County Correctional Officer while under supervision from medical professionals and fled on foot, police say.

The vehicle was recovered in the 1100 block of Salisbury Street in St. Louis on Tuesday morning. The vehicle was unoccupied when police found it.

Brutsman stole the vehicle from an Imo’s Pizza delivery driver, according to KMOV.

Brutsman is described as 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds and was in custody on burglary and property crime charges.
