The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is holding a person of interest in connection with the murder of Diondre Shanklin that happened about 11:15 p.m. Saturday outside of a residence at 43 St. Ambrose Drive.
It’s unclear how the person is tied to Shanklin, who lives at 206 East Adams.
“No one has been charged. We are still investigating,” said St. Clair County Sheriff’s Capt. Bruce Fleshren, who is commander of the Major Case Squad.
Shanklin was pronounced dead at 12:21 a.m. Sunday, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.

Fleshren said police are still looking for any help from the public. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 332-4259.
