After fleeing police, a Cahokia man ran into and damaged an East Carondelet squad car, police say.
Police signaled for Christopher P. Belfield, 28, to stop, but he fled instead, going 21 mph over the speed limit, according to charges filed Friday.
When police arrested Belfield in Dupo, they found he had a suspended driver’s license and was in possession of a gun — a .25-caliber pistol — as a convicted felon, according to the charges.
