East St. Louis man accused of 2 Belleville armed robberies

An East St. Louis man has been charged in connection with two Belleville armed robberies.

Marty D. Shaw Jr., 26, was charged with three counts of armed robbery with a firearm, two in connection with a 2016 armed robbery and one connected with a 2017 armed robbery, according to a Belleville police news release.

Police accused Shaw of robbing the Belleville Quick Stop, 1258 Lebanon Ave., on Dec. 19, 2016, and Arena Liquor, 105 S. Belt East on July 13.

In initial reports for both robberies, police said three men were involved.

Shaw’s bail is set at $300,000, and was still held in the St. Clair County Jail as of Wednesday evening.
