CrimeStoppers asks public for help in solving 2012 killing

It’s been almost five years since Rapp Chairs was shot and killed in East St. Louis.

The 35-year-old was riding in a car at 7th Street and St. Louis Avenue at about 1 a.m. Aug. 13, 2012. A person in a white or light-colored truck shot him, then drove toward the Eads Bridge, according to CrimeStoppers.

Since then, no one has been charged in his death.

CrimeStoppers is asking anyone with any information on Chairs’ shooting to call in an anonymous tip. Any tip that leads to an arrest can result in a reward up to $5,000.
