AT&T officials resolved an outage issue Tuesday morning that prevented some customers from being able to call 911 from their cell phones.
While local officials warned metro-east residents of the potential outage in a Facebook post Tuesday morning, AT&T officials confirmed shortly after the issue had been resolved.
“We are aware of an issue that briefly affected 911 service for some customers this morning, the issue has been resolved,” a statement from AT&T read.
Randy Randolph, operations manager for St. Clair County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Systems Board, noted the outage had nothing to do with St. Clair County’s 911 system.
