Thousands lose power after heavy rain and wind, Ameren says

Around 1,400 people in St. Clair County were without power as of about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening after a storm swept through the area.

Heavy rain and wind knocked out power and flooded some areas around St. Louis. 1,700 people don’t have power in St. Louis, as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Ameren’s outage map.

Highway 141 at Interstate 44 in St. Louis is closed due to flash flooding, KMOV reported Wednesday.
