Children's clothing resale shop reopens in Fairview Heights
Move over, Once Upon A Child. Wee Peats Kids Resale is back.
After closing its Frank Scott Parkway location in May, the children’s clothing store will reopen Sept. 9 at 10 Lincoln Highway, Suite 102, in Fairview Heights. The shop is next door to Clarkson Eyecare.
Becky Reeb, the new owner of Wee Peats, said the store is rebuilding its inventory and purchasing gently used children’s clothing from the public.
Wee Peats is looking for clothing sizes 2t-5t, boys 2t-5t, girls 4-6x, boys 4-7, girls 7-14, boys 8-14 and active wear. The store isn’t accepting junior or maternity sizes at this time.
Never heard of Wee Peats until now?
“We’re more of an upscale boutique resale (shop),” Reeb said. “It’s a step above and more of an enjoyable shopping experience.”
The resale shop operated for six years in Swansea before moving to Fairveiw Heights. Reeb said family will help her run the business.
The new store is much larger than the previous location.
And, this time around Wee Peats will also offer art classes for children who are homeschooled.
Customers can drop off clothing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The store will give you cash for your clothing or give you store credit if you’re ready to shop.
“I’ve been in retail my entire life and the best part of retail is the customer,” Reeb said. “I love talking to people and learning about their live. I don’t have grandchildren, so I hoping all of the children here will be like my surrogate grandchildren.”
The store will buy and sell clothing for infants to children’s size 16. For more information, call Wee Peats at 618-589-6099.
