Two police officers who were shot Friday in North St. Louis were released from the hospital Sunday, officials said.
Two men have been arrested, but only one has been charged in the shooting of the two unnamed officers and one woman who was inside her home.
That woman, Tamara Collier, had been listed as critical. Police did not share information about her condition Sunday.
The shooting began when police in the gang investigation unit tried to talk to two persons of interest Friday afternoon.
“These are violent offenders; this is what they do. They don’t want to be taken (into custody), and they don’t care what they do when they’re firing an assault rifle like this in an urban area,” Interim Police Chief Lawrence O’Toole said.
