A baseball-loving 7-year-old with a bionic hand made it her goal to throw out the first pitch for every MLB team, and one of her next stops is at Busch Stadium.
Hailey Dawson was born missing three fingers on her right hand due to a rare congenital disease, according to the RiverFront Times. But engineering students at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas built her a robot hand that she can control by flicking her wrist.
Hailey loves baseball, and after throwing out first pitches at UNLV’s baseball games, she decided to move on to the major league.
After a video story by the Bleacher Report went viral, Hailey has started getting invites from MLB teams across the country.
Cardinals center fielder Dexter Fowler, who met Hailey at a Las Vegas mall, invited Hailey to the stadium via Twitter on Thursday. And the Cardinals team is on board with a plan to have Hailey throw out a first pitch during the 2018 season.
