St. Louis fire crews called out a third alarm as a large three-story St. Louis warehouse went up in flames early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters had the fire knocked down at about 7 a.m. near St. Louis and Elliot avenues — also identified on the department’s Twitter page as North Leffington Avenue and University Street in addition to Dodier Avenue and University Street.
The three-alarm fire was threatening another one-story structure in the area, according to St. Louis fire officials. Crews worked to prevent the embers that were falling on the building’s roof from starting a second fire.
Crews used multiple sources of water, including four aerial hoses and two deck guns. Officials attributed this approach to the quick containment of the fire.
No injuries had been reported during the fire.
