Mexican restaurant opens in Fairview Heights

Taquerias Olvera opens its doors today in Fairview Heights.

Uncle Nick’s Deli is anticipated to open for business later this week in Belleville. The independent restaurant will serve sandwiches, soups and salads inside Firehouse Crossing, shopping center at the corner of Illinois 13 and Frank Scott Parkway.

Cloud 9 Cafe, Lounge & Emporium is a new venue at Chateau Plaza in Fairview Heights that invites consumers to enjoy fresh coffee, pastries and more while enjoying local art. The owners hope to provide a place for local and student artists to display their creations and promote their work. Live bands will soon be added for weekend performances. A sign posted at the Subway restaurant at 101 W. Washington St. in Millstadt reads that the store has closed. There is no word if the closure is temporary.

A Fairview Heights landscaping service has a new name. Owner Josh Marties took over Scott’s Landscaping in 2012 and has renamed the business Creative Landscapes Ltd. And finally, a car audio retailer is currently moving into a former fire station in Fairview Heights. Custom Sounds is relocating its store and all its inventory from 5350 N. Illinois St. in Fairview Heights across town in the former fire house on Lincoln Highway. The Austin, Texas-based business does not expect to complete the move until sometime later this year.
