Interstate 270 from the new Chain of Rocks Canal Bridge to Route 3 in Granite City is scheduled to have overnight lane restrictions beginning on Monday, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Lane restrictions on both eastbound and westbound directions are set to go in place after 9 p.m. and be removed by 5 a.m. the following day.
The lane restrictions are needed to install the permanent pavement striping, IDOT said. This work is scheduled to be completed by 5 a.m. Friday.
In addition, the ramp from eastbound I-270 onto southbound Route 3 is scheduled to be closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights, weather permitting.
The ramp closure is scheduled to be in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, IDOT said. A posted detour will be in place to guide eastbound motorists to Route 203, where they will exit and be directed back onto westbound I-270 and sent back to Route 3.
