Rain will be ending, but cold temperatures will linger

Scattered showers are expected Thursday during the morning rush hour.

But they’re expected to break up after that and skies will gradually clear throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

The high temperature will be 49, about 12 degrees cooler than the average high temperature in the metro east for March 26, which is 61. Winds will be brisk from the northwest at up to 15 mph. Overnight the low will sink below the freezing mark to 30.

Temperatures will remain well below normal Friday and into the weekend.

It will be mostly sunny Friday with a high of 46 and a low of 25. On Saturday, it will be partly sunny with a high of 44 and a low of 28.

There is a 20 percent chance of snow flurries Sunday morning before 8 a.m. But after that a warming trend will begin with a high of 58.
