Three women were killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-car crash on Illinois 15 in Washington County.
A 67-year-old woman was driving a Jeep SUV at a high rate of speed, Illinois State Police said in a news release. As the road curved to the right, the Jeep crossed the center line and struck another vehicle, a Buick SUV head on.
The two women in the Buick, a 70-year-old and a 65-year-old, were both killed, as was the driver of the Jeep.
The crash was reported at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday and occurred near Madison Road. Police cited the cause as improper lane usage and driving too fast for the road conditions.
Identification of all three victims has not been released as of Wednesday night.
