A day after the Illinois Liquor Control Commission announced 10 metro-east businesses received citations for selling alcohol to minors during the agency’s March compliance checks, the Commission announced three more area businesses were cited during checks conducted April 9.

The businesses cited were the BP station at 743 True Value Drive in Lebanon, which has one prior violation; Bottom Dollar Cost Plus Foods at 620 S. Madison St. in Lebanon, which has two prior violations and the Mobil station on Hayden Drive near Illinois 4 and Interstate 64 in Mascoutah, which has two prior violations.

The 10 businesses previously cited during ILCC’s March checks were in Cahokia, Dupo and Edwardsville.

The Commission conducts the checks with the help of local police and volunteers from high schools and colleges.
