Belleville-area woman earns special accolade for extensive volunteer work

Carol Bartle, who has volunteered for several Belleville-area events and organizations, is scheduled to be honored as one of this year’s Women of Achievement in the St. Louis region.

Bartle is being honored in the area of “Community Betterment” for her volunteer efforts in the metro-east for nearly 30 years, according to a news release. Bartle has volunteered for numerous organizations such as Art on the Square, the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Belleville 200, SWIC Foundation, Family Hospice, Masterworks Chorale, Zonta Club, Bethany Place, the Women’s Crisis Center and Lancer Improvement Association for District 201.

Nine other women from the St. Louis region are being on honored at a luncheon scheduled for May 5.

“Volunteering is a vital part of the community,” said Nanci A. Bobrow, president of Women of Achievement. “The honorees’ service has impacted thousands of lives, and changed the cultural and social landscape of the St. Louis region. The health, functioning and survival of a community rely on volunteer donations of services, time and resources, which represent an incredible economic savings and value to our community.”
