Cool temperatures, gusty winds will start the workweek

The temperature will be cooler Monday across the metro-east with gusty winds making things seem even more chilly.

The high temperature will top out at 61 with winds blowing out of the west at up to 32 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies will be cloudy early in the day but will become mostly sunny later.

Overnight, skies will be mostly clear with a low of 43. Winds will calm down somewhat. But gusts will still reach about 15 mph.

There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast Tuesday with the best chance of rain coming after 1 pm.

Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny with a high of 68. The chance of rain will increase to 30 percent Tuesday night when the low will be 45 under mostly cloudy skies.

It will be mostly cloudy Wednesday with a slight chance of showers. The high will be 61. Overnight, the low will be 42 under partly cloudy skies.
