Armed robber makes off with pizza order from delivery driver

An armed robber ran off with a pizza order Tuesday night, Belleville police say.

A delivery driver for Imo’s Pizza reported that a man approached him in the 200 block of South Charles Street in Belleville at about 6:50 p.m. The man showed a handgun and demanded the pizza order and the driver’s property, but the driver didn’t have anything to give, he told police. The man fled the area; the driver was not hurt.

Police are looking for a black man who is in his early 20s. The man was wearing a black jacket, a black bandana and gray sweatpants. He showed a black handgun.

Police could not say Wednesday afternoon what the pizza order contained.
