Gang fight causes $10K in damages to cemetery

A gang fight in Mount Olive Cemetery on the Northwest Side resulted in a car getting stuck on a headstone and about $10,000 of damage to other headstones, according to police.

Three cars were in the cemetery on Narragansett Avenue in the Dunning neighborhood before 6 p.m. Tuesday when a fight broke out and one of the three cars fled, police said. One of the other cars hit 10 headstones and got stuck on top of one.

Cemetery workers called 911 to report the disturbance. Evidence technicians were requested to take photos of the car on the headstone before it was towed from the cemetery.

Lorraina Medrano, 23, of the 2400 block of Elm Street in River Grove, was charged with one felony count of criminal damage to property between $10,000 and $100,000. Police said she was the driver of the car that hit the headstones.

One of the other cars was stopped in the area and the driver was taken into custody. Jonathon Martinez, 24, of the 3700 block of North Nora Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and transporting or carrying alcohol or liquor as a driver. He had an open container of alcohol, police said.

Also charged was Ashley Bruno, 39, of the 1100 block of North Kedvale Avenue in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood. She was charged with disorderly conduct and making a false report.

Lukasz Boufal, of the 3800 block of North Neva Avenue in the Dunning neighborhood, and Mario Martinez, 18, of the 3700 block of North Nora in the Dunning neighborhood, were each charged with disorderly conduct – breach of peace.
