Bill Haas involved in deadly crash during golf tournament

Professional golfer Bill Haas was in a car crash that killed his vehicle's driver in California on Tuesday night.

Haas is the son of Belleville native Jay Haas. Bill Haas is a six-time PGA Tour winner and was in Pacific Palisades for the Genesis Open.

Jay Haas told the Golf Channel that his son is expected to make a full recovery and has been released from the hospital with pain and swelling in his leg. The driver who died, Mark Gibello, was hosting Bill Haas during the golf tournament.

Actor Luke WIlson was also in the accident in another vehicle, according to CBS News reports.

Gibello's Ferrari reportedly sideswiped the actor's SUV before colliding with a BMW. Wilson was not injured, ABC-7 reported.
