Man charged with arson in fire that burned down Charleston bar

A Charleston man was charged with intentionally setting a Charleston bar on fire, according to the Journal Gazette/Times-Courier.

Brian T. Griffin, 29, was charged with aggravated arson in connection with the Feb. 16 fire that destroyed Mother's Bar and multiple apartments above the bar,the newspaper reported.

Five people had to be rescued from the building during the fire, but no injuries were reported.

The fire likely started on the south side of the building's second floor, the paper reported.
