According to Carlyle Police Chief Mark Pingsterhaus, Hendricks was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by Randall Schumert, 59, of O’Fallon. The collision occurred around 9:15 p.m. Sunday on Illinois 127 just north of County Farm Road.

Schumert was flown from the scene to a hospital in St. Louis, where his condition was not immediately available Wednesday afternoon.

Hendricks was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese and then flown to a St. Louis hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

Pingsterhaus said a 16-year-old male was driving the car that was involved in the collision. He was not hurt.

Pingsterhaus wouldn’t say whether the 16-year-old will be cited in the crash until the Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Team completes its report.
