Two drivers were killed in an accident on I-64 at Green Mount Road early Sunday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
The names of the victims were not released Sunday pending notification of their families.
According to a police statement, an eastbound 2007 Chrysler 300 was either stopped in the far right lane or was attempting to turn onto the shoulder of the highway around 4:15 a.m. when another vehicle, an eastbound 2000 Honda Civic, struck it from behind.
