Cooler weather settles over metro-east; next chance of rain later in the week

After two weeks of temperatures well above normal, the metro-east will enjoy much cooler weather for the next few days.

The high Tuesday will be 87 under sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. That’s right at the average high temperature for this time of year in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

That’s nine degrees cooler than the Monday high.

It will be mostly clear Tuesday night with a low of 60.

On Wednesday, the high will be about 82, five degrees cooler than average for the end of June in the area.

Skies will be partly cloudy Wednesday night with a low of 60.

Mostly sunny skies and a high of 84 are expected Thursday.

There is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Thursday night when the low will be 67.
