Help needed for Rec Plex clean-up on Sunday

A clean-up session will be held at the Rec Plex starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. The goal is to prepare the building ready for new equipment and other items. Volunteers are needed. There will be yard work, moving exercise equipment and moving items into storage for new items.

‘Community Day’ will highlight all village has to offer

The Town-Wide Yard Sale day is now “New Douglas Community Day.” This year, the community yard sales day will be held on June 6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The village has announced “New Douglas Community Day” in efforts to support local establishments. The idea is for all of the organizations and businesses to showcase what they have to offer to this area.

For example, the fire department will have an open house with free blood pressure checks, and will act as a cooling center.

New Douglas anticipates a lot of people from out of town come to the sales.

A meeting will be held April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Community Center to organize the event. If you own a business in New Douglas, or you are the contact person for an organization in New Douglas, consider attending the “Community Days” meeting.

In regards to the yard sales, maps will be available at the Community Center all day. Krispy Kreme doughnuts, barbecue and other refreshments will also be available for purchase. To be included on the map, contact Barb Basset at (618) 593-3510.
