Steven F. Sandifer, 57, of Highland died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at his home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Nehrt, pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville, officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
He was born May 10, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland to Raymond and Sylvia (Tidwell) Sandifer. On May 29, 1982, he married Monny Geary in Greenville. She survives in Highland.
Mr. Sandifer was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville. He graduated Greenville High School in 1975 and then from Southern Illinois Carbondale in 1979 with a degree in business administration. He was an insurance marketing specialist.

His first love was his family. He enjoyed playing golf, but especially loved competing in all sports against his brothers. He liked to sing karaoke and was very good at it.
He is also survived by his children, Zachry, Morgan, Tanner and Lexis Sandifer; his mother, Sylvia Pierce of Greenville; a sister, Dana Trainer of Greenville; brothers, Bruce Sandifer of Greenville, Larry (Debbie) Sandifer of Decatur, Ill., Kevin (Debbie) Sandifer of Trenton, Tony (Jean) Sandifer of St. Louis, Mo., Tom (Jo) Sandifer of St. Louis, Mo., Tim (Donna) Sandifer of Alhambra, and Jeff (Amelia) Sandifer of Edwardsville; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to his children’s college education.
