Jean M. Trampe, 74, of Highland died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, with the Rev. Leonard Laetsch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland City Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1940 in St. Louis, Mo., to Victor and Marie (Schmidt) Schwarzenbach. On June 30, 1962, she married Wayne A. Trampe. He survives in Highland.
Mrs. Trampe was reared in St. Louis and graduated from Lutheran High School Central in 1958. She attended St. Paul’s College at Concordia, Mo.

She taught first and second grades in Lutheran schools. Prior to rearing her children, she worked as a secretary and an accounts payable clerk at Basler Electric. She and her husband owned Wayne’s Place Inc. in Highland. She helped her husband with alterations, bookkeeping and sales.
She loved spending time with the grandchildren. She enjoyed biking, hiking, gardening, Special Olympics, piano music, reading, traveling, camping and swimming.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Highland.
Other survivors include a son, Eric W. Trampe of Highland; a daughter, Kelly J. (Roger) Hartmann of Highland; grandchild, Patrick K.C. Hartmann, Samantha D. Hartmann and Marcella M. Hartmann, all of Highland; a sister, Barbara Epp of Grand Island, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Laverne (Duane) Meyer of Hamel; and a brother-in-law, Vernon L. (Judy) Trampe of Collinsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers-in-law, Alvin H. Trampe and Leland Trampe.
