Webster University senior Allison Ferguson was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference SLIAC) Player of the Week for her performance during the week of October 3-9.
Ferguson, a 2013 graduate of Highland High School, powered the Gorlok offense to a pair of conference wins last week and helped extend the team’s winning streak to three games. Ferguson, netted five goals in her team’s two wins.
Ferguson scored two goals, including the game winner, in a 5-0 win over Westminster. She followed that up by netting a hat trick, including another game-winning tally, in a win over MacMurray. On the week Ferguson scored her five goals on just nine shots.
Then in a 2-1 win over host Principia College in Elsah, Ill. on Saturday, Ferguson scored a goal at the 17:41 mark of the first half to stake her team to a 2-0 halftime lead. It was Ferguson's seventh goal in her last four games and her team-leading eighth of the season. Webster dominated the first half, outshooting Principia 12-1 and taking the two-goal advantage.
Ferguson has helped Webster (7-7 overall) to a perfect 5-0 mark in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Gorloks are seeking their fifth straight SLIAC championship.
