Nebraska redshirt sophomore starting right guard Tanner Farmer, a 2014 graduate of Highland High School, will miss the No. 10 Huskers’ game at sixth-ranked Ohio State with an ankle sprain suffered in Saturday night’s 23-17 overtime loss at Wisconsin.
During Nebraska’s game against Wisconsin, Farmer’s leg got rolled up during a running play and the early indication was that it might be a severely sprained ankle.
After several athletic trainers tended to Farmer on the field at Wisconsin, Farmer was eventually taken off the field on a cart. Farmer has been one of the better linemen for Nebraska this season, as he stepped into the starting lineup after four seniors graduated last season.
At Ohio State this Saturday night, Farmer will be replaced at right guard by senior offensive lineman Corey Whitaker. Farmer beat out Whitaker this past spring for the starting job.
